  •  Microchipping, Vaccines, Heart Worm testing for both cats and dogs and FELV/FILV testing for cats.

  • ADOPTION CENTER where multiple loving animals are looking for their forever families through the SCCAC Adoption Center.  Adoption appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.
  • LOST ANIMALS: mainly dogs (some cats and other small domestic pets too) who are lost are often brought in by finders, picked up by local police depts or SCC AC Officers within the county and housed at SCCAC. These Found animals are posted on their social media and website pages to help find the owners to reunite the animals with their families. You can see the most up to date pictures through their FB posts " Do You Recognize Me". 
  • FOSTER PROGRAM to aid loving pets have a safe, loving environment increasing their chance for adoption. 
  • VOLUNTEER PROGRAM: fulfill your passion for animals and make a difference in their lives! See their webpage or contact SCCAC for further information and rules and age restrictions.
  • St Clair County Animal Control has 2 county Animal Control officers to serve the entire county and has the charge of public safety, abuse and neglect reporting and investigation, citations, pick up of stray animals when reported plus more. 
  • SCCAC is managed by our County Controller and governed by our Board of Commissioners and whom they have hired the acting Director of the shelter. The Director is responsible for day to day operations and the care of the animals, volunteers as well as community outreach. 
  • Lost and Found pets in the county are often housed at the SCC Animal Control. Any cat or dog found without a collar are held for 4 days, with a collar 7 days, then become property of the county, assessed for adoptability and are often placed up for adoption. 
  • All Dogs within the county must be licensed through the county (please see their website for more information)
